Kouichi Matsukaze (松風 浩一 Matsukaze Kōichi) is a new character introduced in the high school arc (Chapter 378).

Plot

Matsukaze was rescued from a building fire by The Children five years ago. B.A.B.E.L. erased his memories of that day, but the hypnosis didn't work due to his perfect memory and he has been looking for Kaoru Akashi and the others ever since then.

After meeting The Children again, Matsukaze has begun his training to become Kōichi Minamoto Minamoto's eventual replacement as commander of The Children.

Etymology

• The name Kouichi means "prosperous" (浩) (kou) and "one" (一) (ichi).
• Kouichi's surname Matsukaze means "pine tree, fir tree" (松) (matsu) and "wind" (風) (kaze).
