Magic Girls (2) is the seventy-fifth chapter of Takashi Shiina's Zettai Karen Children.
Synopsis[]
The Normal People activate the fire-extinguishing procedure, and the air is sucked out of the bank vault where Kōichi Minamoto, The Children, Muscle Ōkama, Mio Tsukushi and some staff are trapped. Mio doesn't understand what the problem is; Kaoru Akashi explains it to her, and after a delay she begins to panic.
Muscle suggests they work together to get out, and while Minamoto is considering it, Muscle kisses him. The Children tackle Muscle. Shiho Sannomiya points the Esper Hunter, which she stole from Minamoto, at Muscle. He tells her to wait, and explains that they need to stop the vault's ECMs to get out. Shiho agrees, and fires at one. The bank manager tries to stop her.
The ECM breaks, but it is revealed that it was a fake. The bank manager explains that there are several real and fake ECMs on the ceiling. She fires again as the bank manager continues that if a real one is destroyed then the vault will explode and bury them there; fortunately, Shiho misses due to lacking her Psychometry.
Kaoru realises they don't have much time left, and asks Minamoto to hold her; Shiho takes a picture. Minamoto sees the cellphone and thinks to check Muscle and Mio's ECCM. He finds that only the battery was destroyed, so asks everyone to hand over their cellphones, so that he can use their batteries to power the ECCM.
Everyone lies down to lower their oxygen intake while Minamoto works on the ECCM battery. Kaoru wonders why Kyousuke Hyoubu isn't coming to help them. Mio reminds her that no one knows they are there, but even if Hyoubu did know, he would just send someone else; she believes he doesn't care about her, only about Kaoru. Muscle tells Mio that Hyoubu does in fact care about her; he however has begun hallucinating due to lack of oxygen.
Minamoto finishes working on the battery, and Kaoru breaks open the inner door with Psychokinesis, but cannot break the main door. Aoi Nogami questions how Muscle and Mio broke into vault in the first place, Mio tells her that they did it gradually with Muscle turning the wall into metal; they don't have enough time to do that again. Minamoto tells The Children to use their new booster, their limiters. Aoi and Shiho feed their power into Kaoru, performing the Triple Boost, and she cracks the wall around the main vault door. The bank manager is shocked by the power displayed. Mio offers her power to Kaoru, and with the additional power they are able to break out.
