Etymology[]
Hotaru is named after two chapters in The Tale of Genji, "Nowaki" (野分) and "Hotaru" (蛍). Also, the character Hotaru, was Hikaru Genji's half-brother.
- Hotaru's surname Nowaki means "field, wilderness" (野) (no) and "minute" (分) (waki).
