General Director Sannomiya (三宮 長官, Sannomiya Choukan) is the father of Shiho Sannomiya. He is the General Director of the National Police Agency.

Appearance[]

Director Sannomiya is an intimidating man who wears glasses and a formal suit. He has a tall and muscular build.

In the anime, his facial features are much more hardened than in the manga, making his face more flattened and masculine in comparison.

Personality[]

A respected police officer and strict father, Mr. Sannomiya believes in people's responsibility to society as much as their civic-rights, Esper or not. This rule weighs much heavier upon his own daughter, as shown as he allowed his underage child to sense brutal and horrific crime scenes.

However, he is a loving father who cares for his daughter as much as his duty as a law enforcer. The first thing he did after he rescued Shiho was to comfort her by hugging her. He is also compassionate, inviting Mio along on his family trip despite seeming to know her background.

In between chapters, it was revealed he was in fact a tsundere, posing as a strict person only because he cares for his wife and daughter. He sent his wife flowers looking away back in youth, and said he became a "tsundere-papa" only for Shiho to learn to fight for herself.

Plot[]

Elementary School Arc[]

Director Sannomiya requests B.A.B.E.L.'s assistance on a case, specifically asking for Shiho. He has her use Psychometry to investigate a serial killer. When Kōichi Minamoto protests using a child for this kind of investigation, he argues that his daughter can handle it. After Shiho uncovers that the killer is the detective that is helping her, Director Sannomiya embraces her, fearful of her having been in harm's way. In the anime, he dives to protect Shiho from the detective who almost hits her with some sharp metal debris.

Relationships[]

Shiho Sannomiya[]

Director Sannomiya's daughter. He puts on a strict persona around her to toughen her up, but truly loves and cares for her.
